Sweet Corn Defender Spark

Agronomic Profile of "Defender Spark"

The 2026 Ukrainian-bred hybrid "Defender Spark" from "SPARK SEEDS" LLC is designed for intensive farming systems. The plant features a balanced architecture: medium height with a very low ear placement. This structural trait lowers the center of gravity, providing excellent lodging resistance even under severe wind conditions.

Field Performance and Adaptability

The hybrid exhibits moderate green leaf intensity and medium leaf width, optimizing photosynthetic efficiency under standard planting densities. With moderate leaf margin waviness and a medium leaf angle, the plant maintains an efficient canopy structure.

• Stress Tolerance: The weak stem zigzagging and moderate anthocyanin coloration of aerial roots indicate strong physiological resilience to temperature fluctuations. The early tassel flowering allows the hybrid to escape peak July heat, which is vital for maintaining pollen viability.
• Development and Pollination: The dense arrangement of spikelets in the tassel promotes effective pollination. The early silk emergence and short lateral tassel branches ensure a concentrated flowering window, leading to uniform ear development and high marketable yield.

"Defender Spark" is an ideal choice for growers targeting early harvest windows. The lack of significant anthocyanin pigmentation on vegetative organs (leaves, sheaths, anthers) reflects a stable metabolic state throughout the growing season, ensuring consistent performance across various field conditions.
