Sweet Corn CUTCHMAN

French breeding for the premium sweet corn market

The «Coachman» sweet corn hybrid from the French producer Clause has built a solid reputation as a reliable workhorse in the early-maturing segment. Developed for professional growers, this hybrid strikes a balance between aesthetic market appeal and high yield stability, making it a preferred choice for both large-scale farming operations and independent growers.

Versatility and Market Application

The standout feature of «Coachman» is its versatility. While many hybrids are limited to a specific end-use, «Coachman» performs exceptionally well across three core market sectors:

• Fresh Market: The uniform ear shape and vibrant yellow kernels ensure high consumer demand and excellent shelf-life, even when transported over long distances.
• Canning: Its kernel depth and high sugar content provide excellent processing yields for industrial canning facilities.
• Freezing: The robust density of the kernels allows them to maintain their texture and quality after thawing, making them highly prized by producers of frozen vegetable mixes.

Agronomic Performance

Clause’s breeding philosophy is reflected in the technical precision of this hybrid. «Coachman» features a strong stalk and aggressive early-stage growth, which is vital for securing an early harvest in volatile spring climates. With proven resistance to common regional diseases, this hybrid provides farmers with a predictable production cycle from sowing to harvest. By choosing «Coachman», growers invest in a high-performance crop that meets the rigorous standards of modern retail and food processing industries alike.
