Maize LANDMARK F1

Technological Potential of Landmark F1

The French breeding expertise of Clause in the Landmark F1 hybrid focuses on the balance between early maturity and production stability. At the core of this hybrid lies the SH2 endosperm genetic type (supersweet corn), which dictates its primary advantage over traditional varieties: a delayed conversion of sugars into starch. In practical terms, this ensures a prolonged shelf-life and harvest window, where the ear maintains its eating quality even if harvesting is slightly delayed.

Morphology and Protection

The plant reaches a height of 190–200 cm, ensuring optimal photosynthetic activity under standard sowing densities. Resistance to Helminthosporium leaf blight is a critical factor for professional cultivation. Genetic tolerance to this pathogen allows for reduced fungicide applications, keeping the leaf canopy healthy until full maturity. This is crucial for grain filling, as healthy leaf area directly correlates with ear weight and quality.

Yield Parameters

• Ear length: 20–22 cm.
• Grain configuration: 12–14 rows, representing the gold standard for the processing industry and retail market.
• Vegetation period: 70–75 days, facilitating efficient harvest scheduling.

For growers, Landmark F1 is attractive due to its dual-purpose nature: the grain structure is ideal for both the fresh market and industrial canning, maintaining a firm yet tender texture after thermal processing.
