Taison

TAYSON is a mid-season SH2 type sweet corn hybrid with super-sweet grains, developed by Syngenta from the Netherlands. The vegetation period of the plant is 80–81 days, which allows for harvest within optimal timing. The plant reaches a height of approximately 2.3 meters, which helps suppress weed growth and improves growing conditions. The hybrid is well adapted to various soil types and is capable of successful development even under drought conditions and lack of irrigation, making it versatile and resistant to adverse climatic factors.

TAYSON corn cobs have a length of about 22 cm and a diameter of approximately 5.5-5.7 cm, with 20–22 neat rows of bright yellow, shiny, and smooth grains without wrinkles or dents. Grain depth is 12–13 mm, and the weight of one cob varies from 250 to 350 grams. Grains differ in high sugar and fiber content, and are rich in beta-carotene, B vitamins, and vitamin A, making them not only tasty but also beneficial for health, especially for eyesight and skin. Sweetness and juiciness are preserved even after storage, expanding the possibilities for using the hybrid.

TAYSON is ideal for implementation in the fresh vegetable market, as well as for processing, including freezing and canning. Cobs are well covered with leaves, which allows extending the harvest collection period and ensures excellent preservation during transportation. The hybrid is resistant to a number of viral and fungal diseases, such as rust and helmintosporosis, which increases the reliability and stability of the harvest. Due to its taste qualities and nutritional value, TAYSON corn is popular among both producers and consumers.
