Zlatson is a high-yielding three-line hybrid sunflower of linoleic type, developed by the Institute of Plant Growing named after V.Ya. Yuryev of NAAN and registered in the Ukrainian Plant Variety Register since 2014. The hybrid is intended for intensive cultivation in the Forest-Steppe and Steppe zones of Ukraine, demonstrating stable yield and seed quality even under adverse climatic conditions. The vegetation period is approximately 105-106 days, classifying it as an early-maturing variety. Plant height reaches 160-165 cm, and the flower head is convex with a diameter of 21-23 cm. One of the key features of Zlatson is its high resistance to major sunflower diseases, including false powdery mildew (local and European strains), root rots, as well as lodging and seed shattering. The hybrid is highly drought-tolerant, making it especially valuable for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe regions. Genetic resistance and adaptability ensure reliable yields even under unfavorable weather conditions. The potential yield of the hybrid reaches 4.73 t/ha, with oil content in seeds amounting to 48.4%, indicating high product quality. The thousand-seed weight may reach up to 60 g, and seed purity is 99.7%, facilitating handling and sowing. The recommended planting density is approximately 56,000 plants per hectare. Zlatson seeds are treated with the growth stimulator 'Mars' and the fungicide 'Maxim XL', which improves germination and protects against diseases during early growth stages.
