Sunflower ZUHAT

Consistent performance in drought conditions

Serbian sunflower breeding is renowned for its stress tolerance, and the 'Zuhat' hybrid by Flortek Seed is no exception. This simple hybrid, developed by the originator DNA Tarim ve Tohumculuk San. Ve Tic. Ltd.sti., is designed for farms operating in regions with erratic rainfall. A high oil content (50-55%) makes it a highly profitable choice for farmers, as processing plants offer premiums for oil yields exceeding the standard 46-48% threshold.

Practical application in the field

The primary goal that 'Zuhat' achieves in the field is ensuring predictable yields with minimized operational risks. Simple hybrids in the Flortek Seed portfolio are known for their high crop uniformity, which simplifies combine harvester adjustments and minimizes harvest losses. Agronomists select this hybrid for several key reasons:

• Logistics optimization: due to stable grain characteristics, 'Zuhat' batches require fewer resources for processing and drying.
• High-temperature resilience: the genetic potential of Serbian breeding allows the crop to maintain metabolic activity even during prolonged periods of drought.
• Resource efficiency: the hybrid demonstrates an excellent response to intensive fertilization programs, effectively converting inputs into a high-quality, oil-rich product.

The recommended seeding strategy involves maintaining an optimal plant population density typical for simple hybrids of this maturity group to ensure uniform nutrient and moisture distribution. In a real-world farming environment, 'Zuhat' proves to be a reliable workhorse, capable of delivering strong results on standard agricultural backgrounds without requiring exotic crop protection methods.
