Sapsan

SAPSAN — a mid-early sunflower hybrid developed by Russian breeders and registered in the State Register in 2023. It is characterized by high plasticity and adaptability to various growing conditions, enabling successful cultivation in different regions. The vegetative period is approximately 117 days, and the 1000-seed mass reaches 59 grams. The hybrid is resistant to lodging and shattering, which contributes to harvest preservation and quality improvement.

One of the key features of SAPSAN is its resistance to imidazolinones, allowing the application of Clearfield technology for effective weed control. Additionally, the hybrid exhibits high tolerance to seven strains of downy mildew (A-G) and resistance to diseases such as fomopsis, white rot, gray mold, and sclerotinia. These characteristics significantly reduce the risk of yield losses and ensure production stability.

SAPSAN demonstrates high productivity and oil content. The potential yield of the hybrid exceeds 47 centners per hectare, and oil content in seeds reaches 46–52%, ensuring oil collection up to 11.5 centners per hectare. Thanks to these indicators, the hybrid is a profitable choice for producers aiming to achieve high-quality sunflower oil output.
