The hybrid sunflower 'Batyр' is the result of the work of Kazakh breeders from the LLC 'Experimental Farm of Oilseed Crops'. This mid-early hybrid with a vegetation period of about 118 days is characterized by high yield and is adapted for cultivation in various regions of Kazakhstan, including East Kazakhstan and Almaty regions. Plants reach a height of 121 to 172 cm, have medium-sized flower heads with a diameter of 17-19 cm, semi-downward-facing, with straight stems. Seeds are black, narrowly egg-shaped, with weakly expressed marginal stripes.
'Batyр' is characterized by high productivity: the mass of 1000 seeds ranges from 52.4 to 70.3 g, and the oil content in seeds reaches 49-51%. Average yields vary across regions, reaching up to 30 centners per hectare in some cases, significantly exceeding the performance of standard varieties. Oil yield per hectare is approximately 1063 kg, making this hybrid attractive for oil production.
The hybrid exhibits resistance to major sunflower diseases such as false powdery mildew, downy mildew, white and gray rot, as well as lodging, shattering, and drought, ensuring stable yields under adverse climatic conditions. It is recommended for cultivation in East Kazakhstan and Almaty regions, as well as in the West Siberian region, confirming its versatility and adaptability.
