Puntasol CL

Puntasol CL sunflower is a high-yielding hybrid with rapid early growth and uniform plant structure. Due to intensive root system development, plants form a strong foundation, contributing to high yields. Plant height reaches 165–175 cm, and the vegetation period is 112–116 days. The hybrid exhibits excellent resistance to lodging and stem breakage, ensuring yield retention under adverse weather conditions. Seed weight per 1000 seeds ranges from 49–52 g, and oil content is high — from 44 to 48% — making this hybrid particularly valuable for oilseed production.

Puntasol CL is recommended for cultivation across all regions of Ukraine and is suitable for intensive farming technologies. The hybrid is tolerant to herbicides based on imazamox (Clearfield type), facilitating weed control and enhancing the effectiveness of agronomic practices. Disease tolerance varies: very high resistance to powdery mildew, moderate resistance to sclerotinia, frogeye leaf spot, and gray mold, while resistance to downy mildew is inconsistent. For optimal yield formation, plant density should be maintained at 50–55 thousand plants per hectare before harvest.

Puntasol CL is well-adapted to moderate climates and can withstand short-term frost down to -5 °C. Seeds begin germination at soil temperatures of +4...+5 °C, but for uniform emergence, optimal temperature is +10...+12 °C. The plant possesses a powerful root system penetrating up to 4 meters deep, enabling efficient utilization of moisture from deeper soil layers and drought tolerance. For high yields, deep soil moisture during the autumn-winter period and moderate rainfall during the vegetation period — especially during critical flowering and seed filling stages — are essential. Seeds are supplied with basic seed treatment, providing additional protection against diseases and pests.
