Abatisa

Diploid hybrid of the Joint Scientific Institute of Selection.

Seeds are single-embryo. Cotyledons are orange. Leaves are large. Root crop is conical.

Hybrid of high-yielding and sugar-oriented type.

Hybrid is resistant to flowering, tolerant to root maggot and cercosporosis. It has good suitability for mechanical harvesting and high technological qualities.

During testing years (2001-2002), average root crop yield in Steppe zones was 431 centners/ha, in Forest-Steppe — 491 centners/ha, in Polissia — 438 centners/ha, sugar content respectively 16.5; 15.6; 16.5%, sugar harvest per hectare — 69.9; 76.8; 72.2 centners.
