Sunflower MASS 92OL is a high-yielding, mid-early hybrid of linoleic type, developed using Clearfield Plus technology, which involves the use of the herbicide Euro-Lighting for effective control of weeds and downy mildew. The vegetation period of the plant ranges from 105 to 118 days, depending on growing conditions. The plant features a massive form, high leafiness, and a strong root system, ensuring resistance to lodging and stress factors. The seed head is medium-sized, strongly convex, and downward-sloping, with seed mass per thousand varying from 53 to 59 grams.
The hybrid MASS 92OL demonstrates high resistance to major diseases, including phomopsis, phomosis, white mold of the head and stem, sclerotinia, rust, false powdery mildew (RM9), and downy mildew (A-E). Thanks to these qualities and adaptability to various soil-climatic conditions, sunflower is recommended for cultivation in forest-steppe and steppe zones of Ukraine, as well as in the Polesie region. The hybrid positively responds to fertile soils and can consistently yield high harvests even under adverse weather conditions.
The yield of MASS 92OL is at the level of 29.6–31.9 centners per hectare, providing 1480 to 1790 kilograms of oil per hectare. Oil content in seeds is 49–52%, and protein content is 16.2–17%. The recommended seeding rate depends on soil moisture: 50–55 thousand seeds per hectare under insufficient moisture, and 58–65 thousand under adequate moisture. Thanks to its agronomic characteristics and high yield, this hybrid is among the leaders among sunflowers cultivated using Clearfield Plus technology.
