Sugar beet VIORICA KWS is a new-generation hybrid developed by the company KWS. This single-stem diploid hybrid on a sterile basis belongs to the E yield type and is characterized by a medium-late maturation period with a vegetative period ranging from 140 to 180 days. VIORICA KWS stands out for its high yield, ranging from 79.9 to 90.9 tons per hectare, as well as high sugar content in the roots — from 17.48 to 19.40%. The variety is recommended for harvesting in mid to late periods, when sugar content reaches its maximum.

The hybrid demonstrates high resistance to major sugar beet diseases, including cercospora, powdery mildew, rhizomania, and bacterial disease, ensuring stable yields and product quality. VIORICA KWS shows high responsiveness to irrigation and exhibits drought tolerance, allowing successful cultivation in various climatic zones, including the Polissia, Forest-Steppe, and Steppe regions, particularly on irrigated lands where record yields are achieved.

To achieve maximum potential of the hybrid, planting is recommended in well-prepared soil with application of mineral fertilizers, which promotes rapid initial growth and active plant development throughout the entire vegetation period. Early growth requires herbicide treatment to combat broadleaf and grass weeds, which can significantly reduce yield and sugar content.
