Sugar beet ISV 0503

Sugar beet genetics from Ukrainian breeders

The ISV 0503 sugar beet variety represents the result of long-term breeding work by the Institute of Sugar Beet of the UAAS. In the face of intense competition from international hybrids, this variety remains highly valued for its adaptability to Ukrainian soil and climatic conditions, as well as for its reliable performance.

Technical specifications and sugar content

Classified as a sugar-type (Z) variety, it is specifically designed to produce high yields of refined sugar. Key metrics include:

• Sugar content: 18-19%.
• Primary use: intensive sugar production.

Agronomists choose ISV 0503 for its stable sugar accumulation, even when cultivated with moderate input levels. Unlike some imported hybrids that require maximum technological intensity, this variety demonstrates high economic efficiency in regions where optimizing costs for fertilizers and plant protection products is a key priority.

Market positioning and agronomic value

Currently, ISV 0503 is recognized as a reliable solution for farms opting for proven domestic genetics. Given its origin, the variety exhibits excellent field germination and resilience against regional pathogens, mitigating risks in areas with inconsistent moisture. It serves as a dependable «workhorse» for sugar refineries looking for high-quality raw materials with a consistently high percentage of sugar.
