Sugar beet SMART ATTALA KWS

Technological Potential of Smart Attala KWS: Protection and Productivity

The sugar beet hybrid Smart Attala KWS, developed by the German breeding giant KWS, represents an integration of classical breeding and the innovative Smart protection system. This is not merely high-yielding material, but a component of a comprehensive cultivation technology aimed at minimizing crop losses in challenging phytosanitary conditions.

Agronomic Profile and Resistance

One of the key engineering features of this hybrid is its genetically determined resistance to a complex of pathogens that limit sugar beet yields. Under intensive farming conditions, three protection factors are critical:

• Rhizomania (BSNYV): A high level of genetic protection allows for plant population preservation even in soils with high infectious backgrounds, preventing root deformation.
• Cercospora: The hybrid demonstrates increased tolerance to leaf spot, which is critical for maintaining canopy photosynthetic activity deep into the autumn.
• Beet Cyst Nematode: A specific breeding node of protection that allows the crop to be grown in rotations with high pest pressure, preventing sharp decreases in root mass.

NZ Type: Balance Between Sugar Yield and Mass

Smart Attala KWS belongs to the NZ (Normal-Zucker) type—a normal-sugar profile that serves as the "gold standard" for processing plants. The technical value of this choice lies in the optimal ratio between vegetative mass and sucrose accumulation. In field conditions, this translates into stable root growth while maintaining high sugar yield per hectare, making the hybrid economically viable for mid-to-late harvest windows. The technological solution embedded in this hybrid enables farmers to simplify chemical protection schemes, focusing on the efficiency of the Smart system herbicide treatment.
