Sugar beet Ogest

Genetic Potential and Protection: The Inner Design of Ogest

German breeding by Strube is synonymous with a balance between productivity and adaptability, and the 'Ogest' hybrid serves as a prime example of this strategy. In intensive farming, where pathogenic pressure becomes a limiting factor, selecting seeds with integrated protection determines the margin of the entire season.

NZ Type: Targeted for Consistent Yields

Ogest is classified as a Normal-Sugar (NZ) type. In field conditions, this represents an optimal synergy between root weight and sugar content. For an agronomist, this is a strategic advantage: the hybrid demonstrates stable yield performance across various soil types, avoiding the extremes of either 'mass-only' production (which risks quality) or 'sugar-only' profiles (which often compromise tonnage). It is the ideal solution for farms striving for predictable sugar extraction per hectare.

Biological Resilience as the Foundation of Profitability

The primary technical advantage of this hybrid lies in its high resistance to two major sugar beet threats:

• Rhizomania: Given the viral nature of this disease, chemical control is largely ineffective. The genetic resistance of Ogest, developed by the originator Dr. Hermann Strube, allows the crop to maintain high productivity even on infested fields, neutralizing the risk of significant harvest losses.
• Cercospora: Leaf diseases directly impact photosynthetic efficiency. Ogest's robust resistance to Cercospora keeps the leaf canopy healthy for longer, which is critical during August and September, the peak window for sugar accumulation.

Investing in hybrids from Strube Gmbh&Co.Kg acts as an insurance policy for your operation. You are not just buying seeds; you are acquiring a technological system that minimizes expenses for additional fungicide applications and ensures a stable phytosanitary environment across your fields.
