Sugar Beet SMART AMALTEA KWS

New Generation German Breeding

"SMART AMALTHEA KWS" represents a fresh approach to sugar beet cultivation technology, introduced by the German agricultural giant KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA. Registered in Ukraine in 2025, this F1 hybrid is a direct response to the needs of farmers operating in the Forest-Steppe and Polissya regions. The innovation of this variety lies not only in its genetic potential but also in its adaptability to modern protection systems, making it a strategically important asset for farms focused on high technical efficiency.

Morphological Features and Development

At the core of "SMART AMALTHEA KWS" is diploid genetics, ensuring crop stability. The plant exhibits a robust leaf apparatus: an intense green leaf blade combined with strong edge waviness and high gloss indicates significant photosynthetic activity. An important characteristic is the rosette type—spreading—which allows the crop to effectively close the canopy, suppressing weeds during the early stages of growth.

• Root: features a cylindrical-conical shape and is fully embedded in the soil, which significantly simplifies mechanized harvesting and minimizes losses during lifting.
• Growth: the monogerm type facilitates sowing and maintenance, while the late development of flowering stems ensures that the plant's energy is directed exclusively toward sugar accumulation rather than premature bolting.
• Adaptation: the variety is perfectly suited for the Forest-Steppe and Polissya agro-climatic zones, where environmental conditions demand high resistance to moisture fluctuations from the hybrid.

Choosing "SMART AMALTHEA KWS" is an investment in technological efficiency. Because the root is fully submerged in the soil, it is protected from temperature stress and sunburn, which is critical for maintaining raw material purity when delivering to processing plants.
