The SCHL (5046 X 5063) sugar beet is an important agricultural crop, widely cultivated due to its high sugar content and adaptability to various climatic conditions. Seeds of this variety can germinate at temperatures from +4 to +17°C, with the optimal temperature for germination and growth being 13-15°C, and for full plant development – 20-22°C. Despite its preference for warmth, the crop can withstand high temperatures exceeding 40°C and even frosts down to -5°C during the pre-harvest period, which makes it resistant to adverse weather conditions. However, a lack of light and moisture negatively affects yield and sugar content in the roots. The variety is characterized by high drought resistance due to a well-developed root system that can absorb water from a depth of about 2.5 meters. The greatest need for water occurs in July-August, when intensive root growth takes place. A lack of moisture during this period can lead to an increased nitrogen content in the roots, which reduces product quality. The SCHL (5046 X 5063) sugar beet demonstrates high resistance to major leaf and root diseases, as well as physiological disorders such as 'sugar beet yellows', which contributes to a stable and high yield. This variety is characterized by a high sugar content within the range of 18-20%, ensuring excellent yield of quality purified juice. The SCHL sugar beet is suitable for cultivation in various agro-climatic zones and can be used for both early and mid-late harvesting. Due to its agronomic and biological characteristics, this variety is a reliable choice for producers seeking to obtain a high-quality sugar beet crop.
