Sugar beet Prime

Italian Genetics for High-Yield Sugar Beet

Working with the "Primera" sugar beet hybrid from Aurora S.P.A. highlights a clear focus on the balance between high yields and robust field survival. As an NZ (normal-sugar) type, it provides predictable processing quality, which is vital for meeting factory specifications without penalties. The pedigree behind this product—featuring industry leaders like Lion Seeds, KWS, and Aurora S.P.A.—is evident in its performance.

Field Performance and Disease Resistance

Managing sugar beet in challenging conditions is easier with a cultivar that doesn't require constant emergency intervention. The key strengths of "Primera" lie in its agronomic profile:

• Resistance to seedling diseases: The hybrid shows remarkable resilience against root rot (dampening off), ensuring an even plant population.
• Cercospora and Powdery Mildew: Even under high pressure, the foliage remains healthy, allowing for efficient photosynthesis well into the late summer.

Handling and Harvest Efficiency

From an operator's perspective, the morphology of "Primera" is a distinct advantage. The roots have a uniform, clean shape, which makes the harvesting process smooth. There is less clogging in the lifter units, and the beets are properly seated in the soil, meaning less dirt tare and lower fuel consumption for the harvester. The flexibility of this hybrid across different soil types makes it a reliable asset for any farm management plan. Ultimately, Aurora S.P.A. has delivered a product where genetic quality translates directly into lower maintenance overheads and higher net results per hectare.
