NS ROMEO

Sunflower NS ROMEO is a mid-early hybrid developed by breeders of the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Serbia, specifically adapted for cultivation in forest-steppe and steppe regions. The maturation period ranges from 107 to 112 days after sowing. The plant reaches a height of 170–180 cm, with a flower head diameter of 21–25 cm, slightly drooping downward. Due to its strong root system capable of extracting moisture from soil depths up to 1.5 meters, the hybrid demonstrates high drought and stress resistance. NS ROMEO hybrid possesses genetic resistance to several common diseases, including American stalk rot, Phomopsis, anthracnose, and sunflower moth. It also exhibits high resistance to lodging, shattering, and downy mildew, contributing to stable and high yields. Seeds are black, with a 1000-seed mass of 60–70 grams and a purity level of 21–23%. The optimal temperature for seed germination is above 12°C, and for active growth and flowering — 22–26°C, although the plant can successfully develop even under deviations from these values. NS ROMEO belongs to the oil-type sunflower with high oil content in seeds — 48–52%. The hybrid’s yield potential exceeds 4.5 tons per hectare, making it a profitable choice for agricultural production. Due to its combination of high productivity, disease and stress resistance, and adaptation to forest-steppe and steppe climatic conditions, sunflower NS ROMEO is a reliable and efficient solution for cultivation in Ukraine.
