The herbicide Pilot is a modern selective agent for protecting sugar beet crops from annual broad-leaved weeds. The active ingredient of the preparation is metamitron at a concentration of 700 g/l, which is effectively absorbed by the leaves, stems, and roots of weeds, penetrating their tissues and disrupting the photosynthesis process, leading to the death of undesirable vegetation. The preparation is available as a concentrate suspension and packaged in 10-liter containers.
Pilot has both pre-emergence and post-emergence effects, allowing it to be applied either before or after the emergence of sugar beet seedlings, treating the soil or existing weeds. The recommended application rate is 200-300 liters per hectare. For maximum effectiveness, treatment should be conducted in the morning or evening during warm, windless weather at air temperatures between +10 and +25 degrees Celsius.
The herbicide's effect manifests within 3-12 weeks, providing reliable crop protection and contributing to increased sugar beet yields. Due to its systemic mechanism of action and selectivity, the preparation does not harm the crop, making it an indispensable tool in sugar beet cultivation technology.
