Sugar beet PINTA

Stable yields under high pathogen pressure

The German selection process of Strube traditionally focuses on the balance between productivity and defensive potential. The sugar beet hybrid "Pinta" is a classic representative of the E-type (yield-oriented), designed for agronomists who aim to maximize output per hectare without risking crop loss due to leaf diseases.

Why Pinta stands out in the E-type segment

The main issue for many yield-oriented hybrids is the vulnerability of the leaf canopy. Strube has successfully addressed this drawback. Unlike analogs that require intensive mid-season fungicide programs, Pinta possesses high genetic resistance to Cercospora. This results in savings on 1–2 sprayings, significantly reducing the cost per ton of beet roots.

Technical specifications

• Comprehensive protection: In addition to Cercospora, the hybrid is highly resistant to Rhizomania and powdery mildew. This makes it an optimal choice for regions with humid climates and a high risk of fungal outbreaks.
• Diploid structure: Ensures uniform crop emergence and predictable development, which simplifies machinery adjustments during harvesting.
• Quality indicators: Despite its average size and oval-conical shape, the hybrid demonstrates stable sugar accumulation at 18–19%. This is an excellent result for a yield-type variety, which usually suffers from sugar dilution due to high biomass.

Who is this hybrid for?

Pinta is suitable for farms operating on fertile soils where realizing genetic yield potential is the priority. It is a tool for those seeking predictability: you can be certain that even under moderate infectious pressure, the crop will remain healthy until harvest. While those prioritizing extreme sugar content might prefer other options, for processors looking for stable raw material supplies, this hybrid stands as a benchmark of reliability.
