Sugar beet Laser

Yield stability with Syngenta genetics

The "Laser" sugar beet hybrid from the Swiss breeding giant Syngenta belongs to the normal (NZ) sugar type. This is the choice for farmers who prioritize the balance between root mass and sugar yield per hectare. In unstable climatic conditions, "Laser" demonstrates remarkable plasticity, adapting successfully to both intensive cultivation technologies and more moderate agronomic backgrounds.

Protection embedded in the DNA

A key feature of this hybrid is its specific resistance to a group of pests, which makes it stand out from competitors. While many varieties require heavy insecticide applications at early stages, "Laser" shows increased tolerance to thrips and Colorado potato beetle damage. This does not imply the total abandonment of crop protection, but it significantly reduces the "pesticide load" on the crop during critical growth phases.

Advantages and Key Features

• NZ type (Normal-Sugar): An industry-standard for processing plants, ensuring optimal juice purity and extraction rates.
• High field emergence: Syngenta seeds undergo multi-stage cleaning and processing, guaranteeing uniform stands even under conditions of soil moisture deficit.
• Technological efficiency: Uniform maturation and excellent root geometry simplify mechanical harvesting, minimizing crop losses during lifting.

The "Laser" hybrid is optimal for farming operations in regions with a high concentration of specific pests, where the plant protection factor becomes decisive for the economic success of the project. High early-growth vigor allows the beet to close the canopy quickly, suppressing weeds and conserving soil moisture. It is a reliable tool for achieving a projected yield with predictable quality characteristics.
