GARRO

GARRO is a hybrid sugar beet (Beta vulgaris L. ssp. vulgaris var. saccharifera Alef.), representing a single-seeded diploid hybrid on a sterile basis. It is recommended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including the North Caucasus, Central Chernozem, and Middle Volga. The hybrid is characterized by medium and high root yield, which varies depending on the region: from 255 c/ha to 478 c/ha. Root mass also varies — from 444 g to 550 g, while sugar content ranges from 18.2% to 19.4%, ensuring a high sugar harvest of up to 54 c/ha. These indicators make GARRO an attractive choice for the sugar industry and agricultural producers.

The hybrid demonstrates resistance to major diseases and pests characteristic of sugar beets. In the North Caucasus and Central Chernozem regions, weak infestation by beet nematode and Cercospora is noted, which contributes to maintaining yield quality and quantity. However, in the Middle Volga region, stronger infestation by beet nematode and powdery mildew is observed, requiring additional protective measures when growing under these conditions.

GARRO belongs to mid-late varieties, which allows for optimal planning of agrotechnical activities and harvest collection. Thanks to its characteristics, the hybrid is suitable for various agro-climatic conditions and ensures a stable high yield of sugar beet with good technological indicators. This makes it a profitable and reliable choice for farmers oriented towards sugar production and quality raw materials.
