MS HR 17

MS HR 17 is a high-yielding sugar beet hybrid developed by the company Strube and included in the State Register for several regions of Russia. The plant is of medium height with a widely conical root of medium length. The vegetative period is about 135 days. The hybrid is characterized by high yield and high sugar content — up to 20.2%, which ensures significant sugar collection per hectare. MS HR 17 is resistant to main diseases such as rhizomania, cercosporosis, root rot, and root aphid damage, which contributes to crop stability and reduced losses during cultivation.

Sugar beet MS HR 17 is a heat-loving and heat-tolerant crop, developing optimally at temperatures of 20-22°C, but able to photosynthesize efficiently even at temperatures above 40°C. Seeds have a wide range of germination temperatures from +4 to +17°C, while the time to emergence depends on the temperature. The plant requires adequate moisture, especially during the intensive growth period of root crops in July-August. Thanks to a well-developed root system capable of absorbing water from a depth of up to 2.5 meters, the hybrid withstands drought well. In the autumn period, the crop can withstand frosts down to -5°C without harm to sugar accumulation.
