Sugar beet FD13SR001

French Excellence in Sugar Beet Breeding

The sugar beet hybrid FD13SR001, developed by Florimond-Desprez Veuve et Fils, represents the pinnacle of modern agronomic research. Orchestrated by experts like Karine Bounan-Henri, this hybrid is designed to meet the rigorous demands of industrial sugar production, focusing on resilience and yield stability in challenging European soil conditions.

Technical Superiority and Disease Resistance

The FD13SR001 is characterized by its distinct oval-conical root shape. This morphological trait is a significant advantage for modern harvesting equipment, ensuring clean extraction from the soil with minimal harvest loss. Beyond its physical properties, the hybrid serves as a robust shield against major yield-robbing pathogens:

• Rhizomania: Engineered with high genetic resistance to necrotic yellow vein virus, making it an ideal choice for intensive sugar beet growing regions.
• Cercospora: Provides excellent tolerance, significantly reducing the reliance on aggressive fungicide programs while maintaining leaf health.
• Powdery Mildew: Offers a reliable defense, preserving the crop’s photosynthetic capacity throughout the growing cycle.

Choosing FD13SR001 means investing in the legacy of Florimond-Desprez. It is a solution designed for professionals who prioritize consistent yield, ease of handling, and efficient disease management. The hybrid’s profile is a testament to the precision of French breeding, ensuring that growers achieve maximum profitability per hectare.
