Sugar beet SX1526

Stable yields under high disease pressure

Choosing the SCS1526 hybrid from the American company Seedex is a strategic decision for regions where sugar beet pathogen risks are at their highest. Producers select this hybrid when they need to balance yield potential with the need to minimize costs associated with intensive fungicide treatments.

Disease resistance as the foundation of profitability

The core value of the SCS1526 lies in its genetic resistance. In intensive farming systems, where crop rotation may not always prevent the buildup of soil-borne pathogens, this hybrid proves highly effective against:

• Rhizomania: allows for marketable root production even in infected fields.
• Cercospora leaf spot: significantly slows disease progression, which is critical for maintaining canopy health late in the growing season.
• Powdery mildew: prevents premature wilting of foliage, ensuring optimal sugar accumulation.

These traits make the hybrid highly predictable. It is an ideal choice for operations prioritizing consistency—where obtaining a reliable harvest volume without unnecessary risks is more valuable than chasing record-breaking but unstable yields.

Agrotechnical advantages

The SCS1526 produces an oval-conical, medium-sized root. This configuration is highly favorable for mechanized harvesting: the shape ensures easy extraction from the soil with minimal physical damage. The medium size allows for more efficient plant density management, which positively impacts the total harvest mass per hectare. When proper agronomic practices are followed, the hybrid demonstrates excellent shelf life and suitability for long-term storage before processing at a sugar plant.
