Sunflower MAÇ 97A is a medium-late hybrid with a vegetation period of 115–120 days, intended for cultivation in forest-steppe and steppe zones. This variety is distinguished by high plasticity and stability, enabling successful adaptation to various growing conditions. The plant is tall with slightly convex and semi-leaning heads, promoting effective yield formation. Flowering occurs in the medium-late period, ensuring optimal conditions for seed maturation.

Hybrid MAÇ 97A is characterized by high oil content in seeds — from 48 to 51% — making it attractive for oil production. The 1000-seed mass varies within 55–65 grams, indicating seed size and quality. The variety has high yield potential, reaching 50 centners per hectare, with recommended optimal seeding density: 60–65 thousand plants per hectare in well-watered zones and 55–60 thousand in areas with insufficient water supply.

Special attention is given to the resistance of sunflower MAÇ 97A to major diseases, including phomopsis, head and stem sclerotinia, as well as tolerance to A-E races of downy mildew. Additionally, the hybrid demonstrates high drought resistance and lodging resistance, enhancing crop reliability under adverse climatic conditions. For seed treatment, the use of Agrostart and Poncho is recommended, which improves seedling vigor and overall plant viability.
