Sunflower MAS 96P is a mid-season hybrid with a vegetation period of 111-115 days, designed for conventional cultivation. It is characterized by high yield, reaching 46.8 ц/ha, and high oil content in seeds — from 44 to 49%, making it attractive for oil production. The hybrid belongs to the linoleic type and is characterized by high plant height, flat form, and slanted head. The mass of 1000 seeds varies from 52 to 62 grams, indicating the size and quality of the seed material.
MAS 96P exhibits high resistance to sunflower downy mildew (race G), providing reliable protection against this pest. Additionally, the hybrid shows tolerance to several common diseases, including false powdery mildew (RM9), phomopsis, stem and head sclerotinia, and rust (Puccinia). These characteristics contribute to excellent plant phytosanitary condition throughout the entire vegetation period. The hybrid's drought resistance is rated at 8-9 points, and lodging resistance at 7 points, enabling successful cultivation in various soil-climatic conditions, including the Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissia zones of Ukraine.
Recommended planting density depends on soil moisture level: 50-55 thousand plants per hectare under insufficient moisture, and 60-65 тыс./ha under adequate moisture. High early growth (6 points) promotes rapid plant development, which, together with disease and stress resistance, ensures stable and high yield. Seed packaging is designed for 150 000 seeds, which is convenient for farmers when planning planting operations.
