Sugar beet FD Khokkey

Stable sugar beet yields with the Fd Hockey hybrid

French selection from Florimond-Desprez Veuve et Fils is synonymous with technological efficiency and predictable performance. The sugar beet hybrid Fd Hockey is a solution for farms aiming to minimize crop loss risks caused by pathogens while achieving high sugar content in challenging climatic conditions.

Disease resistance as a foundation for profitability

The primary task addressed by choosing this hybrid is managing complex, highly dangerous diseases. Fd Hockey demonstrates clear resistance to:

• Cercospora leaf spot;
• Ramularia leaf spot;
• Powdery mildew;
• Various root rot types.

Integrated protection built at the genetic level allows farmers to reduce the frequency of fungicide applications. This is especially relevant in seasons with high humidity, when the infection pressure rises significantly, and controlling leaf diseases becomes critical to maintaining the photosynthetic surface.

Productivity and raw material quality

When planning a sowing campaign with Fd Hockey, the emphasis is on consistent sugar content, which ranges from 19% to 20%. For processing facilities, this translates to high yields of the final product per hectare. The hybrid adapts perfectly to intensive farming practices, utilizing mineral nutrition and moisture efficiently.

Practical experience shows that selecting this hybrid is justified for fields with a high risk of fungal pathogen accumulation in the crop rotation. Using Fd Hockey allows for the stabilization of farm economics by reducing losses from diseases and ensuring predictable root crop quality upon delivery to sugar refineries.
