Sugar beet of the variety Belozerkivs'kyi odnosemennyi 45 is a warm-loving and heat-tolerant crop, optimally developing at a temperature of 20-22°C, but capable of effective photosynthesis even at temperatures above 40°C. Seeds of this variety germinate within a wide temperature range from +4 to 17°C, with emergence time directly depending on temperature, varying by 10-15 days. During the pre-harvest period, sugar beet withstands frosts down to -5°C without damage to sugar accumulation, although lower temperatures may negatively affect crop quality. Belozerkivs'kyi odnosemennyi 45 is characterized by high yield — 50-55 tons per hectare, and sugar content of roots reaches 17-18%. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to use seeds with germination not less than 85-90%, as well as to apply half-steam soil treatment and contour plowing, which promotes optimal plant development and increases productivity. Sugar beet of this variety is widely cultivated in Ukraine, where the sown area reaches 0.85 million hectares, and the total harvest amounts to approximately 15 million tons. The crop requires adequate moisture, especially during the intensive root growth period in July-August. Thanks to its well-developed root system capable of absorbing moisture from depths up to 2.5 meters, sugar beet is drought-resistant; however, water deficiency may lead to increased nitrogen content in roots, negatively affecting sugar quality. Thus, compliance with agronomic requirements and provision of optimal growing conditions allow to fully exploit the potential of the variety Belozerkivs'kyi odnosemennyi 45 and obtain a high-quality harvest.
