The hybrid sugar beet BTS 150, developed by Betaseed, is a high-yielding medium-maturing variety intended for cultivation in the Central Chernozem and North Caucasus regions, including Rostov and Tambov Oblasts. The plant has medium height with semi-erect leaf position, root crop of medium length with broad-conical or conical shape, deeply embedded in the soil. The hybrid belongs to the first generation and is characterized by stable high sugar content, making it attractive for industrial cultivation.
BTS 150 demonstrates high resistance to cercosporosis, moderate resistance to root rots and rhizoctonia, as well as tolerance to fusarium, powdery mildew, and rust. However, it is susceptible to root maggots. Thanks to these characteristics, the hybrid ensures a stable yield even on fields at risk of various diseases, reducing losses and increasing production efficiency.
Average root crop yield in the Central Chernozem region is about 517-519 t/ha with 17.8% sugar content, ensuring a sugar harvest of 91-93 t/ha. In the North Caucasus region, the yield reaches 572 t/ha with 17.1% sugar content, and the sugar harvest is approximately 96 t/ha. These figures confirm the high productivity and sugar content of the BTS 150 hybrid, making it an optimal choice for the sugar industry.
