Baltika

Baltika sugar beet is a medium-maturing hybrid first-generation variety developed by MARIBO SEED INTERNATIONAL APS and included in the state register in 2005. This variety is recommended for cultivation in the Volga-Vyatka, Central Chernozem, and Ural regions, indicating its adaptability to different climatic conditions. Baltika is characterized by high sugar content, which is an important indicator for sugar beet, and may contain 18–20% sugar in the roots under proper growing conditions.

For successful germination of Baltika sugar beet seeds, a temperature of at least +5°C is required, although optimal conditions are within the range of 13–15°C. A key factor influencing yield and sugar content is adequate light exposure, as well as resistance to diseases such as rot and rhizomania. The Baltika variety exhibits good resistance to these diseases, enabling it to maintain high yields even under adverse conditions.

Growing the Baltika variety requires adherence to agronomic recommendations, including selection of appropriate regions and control over lighting and temperature conditions.
