Sugar beet Beta 7928 (Beta 7928)

Stable Sugar Beet Yields in Challenging Phytosanitary Conditions

For agricultural operations facing significant pressure from soil-borne and foliar diseases, the Betaseed hybrid Beta 7928 offers a robust, well-balanced agronomic solution. Classified as an NZ type (normal sugar content), it serves as a versatile tool for growers aiming to maximize root yield while maintaining optimal sugar extraction levels.

Disease Defense as the Foundation of Profitability

The primary value of Beta 7928 lies in its comprehensive resistance profile. In environments where high disease pressure can render standard fungicide applications insufficient, the hybrid’s innate genetic defense provides a critical buffer:

• Pathological Barrier: The hybrid demonstrates high resistance to Cercospora leaf spot and powdery mildew—the major foliar diseases that can cripple photosynthetic capacity throughout the season.
• Root Health: Its ability to withstand Fusarium and Aphanomyces root rot makes this hybrid an ideal choice for fields with a history of high infection pressure, effectively reducing the need for intensive chemical seed treatments and soil fungicides.

Field Application and Management

Beta 7928 is engineered for intensive farming systems. As an NZ-type hybrid, it excels in regions with moderate climates where the growing season allows for consistent, steady root mass development. Agronomists often select this hybrid for fields where maintaining stand density is a priority; its resilience against rots prevents early plant loss and ensures uniform emergence. It is highly recommended for growers managing long-term crop rotations where suppressing soil-borne pathogen accumulation via high-quality, resilient genetics is paramount to maintaining overall field productivity.
