Description Vilshanka
Soybean variety Vilshanka is a fast-maturing grain variety developed by multiple individual selections from the hybrid L.955/Chernyatka. It belongs to the Manchurian subspecies and the ukrink trial group. Plants reach a height of 92-95 cm, with dark-brown stems covered with reddish down. Lower pods are attached at a height of 13-15 cm. Seeds are oval, yellow with a brown hilum and white "eye", weighing 240-250 g per 1000 seeds. The seeds contain 41-42% protein and 21-22% fat, characterizing the variety as medium-oil. Vilshanka variety exhibits high resistance to major diseases, as well as to low temperatures during flowering and fruiting. It is resistant to lodging and cracking, which helps maintain harvest quality. The fast-maturing nature allows the variety to reach full maturity in 100-105 days under conditions of the Kyiv region, making it suitable for cultivation in forest-steppe and Polissia regions of Ukraine. Due to this, the variety can be used as a predecessor for winter crops. Vilshanka demonstrates high yield potential — 3.0-3.5 t/ha at a seeding rate of 650-700 thousand seeds per hectare. For maximum productivity, it is recommended to sow at optimal times (early May), and later sowing is possible with effective herbicides and proper agronomic practices. The variety is well-adapted to wide-row and row planting, ensuring stable and high yields in recommended cultivation regions.
