Soybean Vilshanka

Stability and Quality: Why "Vilshanka" Remains a Top Choice

For farmers working in the temperate climate of Ukraine, choosing a soybean variety is always a quest to balance yield potential with pathogen resistance. "Vilshanka," developed by the Institute of Agriculture of the NAAS, addresses this by incorporating genetic resistance to a complex of diseases.

Crop Health as the Foundation for Yield

The key differentiator of this variety is its complex resistance to major fungal infections. If your fields frequently suffer from downy mildew (peronosporosis), septoria, or fusarium, "Vilshanka" will help minimize fungicide treatment costs. This isn't just about savings; it reduces the chemical load on the soil, which is crucial for farms adopting organic or sustainable farming practices.

Agronomic Characteristics and Grain Composition

The physical parameters of the variety are optimized for standard harvesting machinery:

• Plant height (90–100 cm) allows for robust vegetative biomass production.
• Lower pod attachment height (12–14 cm) enables direct combining with minimal grain loss, which is a critical metric for crop profitability.

From an agrochemical perspective, the variety offers a balanced profile: a protein content of 41–43% makes the harvest highly liquid for processing plants, while an oil content of 21–22% meets the requirements of oil extraction plants. Consequently, you get a versatile product that is equally sought after by feed companies and soybean oil producers.

Who Should Choose "Vilshanka"?

This variety is an optimal solution for farms aiming for a stable yield without the risk of crop failure due to diseases typical of the region. "Vilshanka" does not require extreme intensive farming technologies and is forgiving of minor agronomic mistakes. It is a reliable choice for those prioritizing proven breeding results and seeking predictable returns on investment in seed stocks.
