Kent

Kent soybean variety is a medium-maturing grain variety with a vegetation period of approximately 90-120 days, allowing it to fully mature at optimal times. Plants reach a height of 70 to 110 cm, with lower pods attached at a height of 16-20 cm, significantly reducing losses during harvest. Kent is characterized by good branching and light-brown stem color, exhibiting high resistance to lodging and shattering due to its strong stem structure and high genetic resistance. This variety has a high yield potential, reaching up to 5.8 t/ha (58 c/ha) under optimal growing conditions. Seeds have a weight of 190-220 g per thousand, with protein content in the grain ranging from 38 to 42% and oil content of approximately 21.1%. Due to these characteristics, Kent is a valuable variety for producing high-quality soybean protein and oil. Kent exhibits enhanced resistance to adverse environmental factors, including drought, heat, bacterial blight, downy mildew, and viral diseases. The variety is well-adapted for cultivation in all regions of Ukraine, especially in the steppe zone, and is recommended for sowing at a density of 500-550 thousand plants per hectare. Its compatibility with the herbicide Roundup allows effective weed control, ensuring stable and high yields even under challenging agroclimatic conditions.
