The 'Buga' soybean variety from the Croatian breeding center Bc Institut d.d. is a mid-late maturing material focused on stable yield formation in moderate climate conditions. The technical priority of this variety lies in the balance between vegetative mass accumulation and high-quality grain filling.

The critical economic node for 'Buga' production is the chemical composition of the seeds. A protein content in the 40–45% range makes the crop a highly liquid asset for processing facilities involved in exports or high-protein feed production. Concurrently, an oil content of 20–22% ensures stable seed density, reducing the risk of losses during transport and long-term storage.

Morphological Development Features

A key engineering solution in the plant's architecture is the height of the lower pod attachment—12–15 cm. This parameter is crucial for mechanical harvesting: it minimizes losses during low-height cutting, which is often a bottleneck when working with short-stature varieties. The 135–140 day vegetation period classifies this variety as one that efficiently utilizes the heat resources of the second half of the summer, promoting deep accumulation of organic compounds in the seeds.
