Soybean Magnificent

Technical Potential of the 'Velychava' Variety

Developed by the V. Ya. Yuriev Plant Production Institute of NAAS, the 'Velychava' soybean variety is engineered for high adaptability within Ukraine's variable climate. This mid-maturing variety balances crop productivity with harvesting efficiency through its specific genetic architecture.

Agronomic Metrics and Morphology

For mechanized harvesting, the height of the lower pods is a critical parameter. 'Velychava' features a lower pod attachment height of 12–15 cm, which significantly minimizes losses during low-cut harvesting. A plant height of 90–110 cm ensures optimal photosynthetic efficiency and lodging resistance, which is essential for intensive farming operations.

Biochemical Profile

The variety yields consistent grain quality that meets the rigorous demands of the processing industry:

• Protein content: 40–42%, aligning with international export standards.
• Oil content: 21–23%, providing significant energy density.

With a growing season of 115–120 days, the variety efficiently utilizes accumulated heat units, ensuring well-filled seeds even in regions with moderate moisture levels. It serves as a balanced solution for agricultural producers prioritizing predictable yields and high-quality protein and oil raw materials.
