Sorghum ASSISTENT

A universal solution for crop production: Assistent sorghum

In modern adaptive farming, selecting a crop that combines high productivity with flexibility is a key factor in profitability. The «Assistent» variety, developed by experts at RosNIISK «Rossorgo» (originators: V. I. Zhuzhukin, V. S. Gorbunov, D. S. Semin), is a prime example of breeding aimed at versatile use across different types of farms.

Dual efficiency: Grain and Hay

A key feature of this variety is its ambivalence. «Assistent» performs equally well in the grain segment and in fodder production. Unlike highly specialized hybrids that require strict adherence to technology for a specific purpose, this variety demonstrates stable biomass development, allowing for flexibility in harvest timing.

• For grain production: High early-growth vigor and resistance to lodging simplify mechanized harvesting and minimize losses during the ripening stage.
• For hay production: The variety's foliage density ensures a high-quality protein component in the green mass, which is crucial for livestock nutrition.

Strengths and cultivation recommendations

«Assistent» is a choice for those aiming to reduce risks when cultivating drought-resistant crops. Its undisputed advantages include:

• High adaptability to temperature fluctuations: breeding work by the Rossorgo institute was focused on mitigating the impact of climatic stress factors.
• Yield stability even in the face of moisture deficits — a critical metric for southern regions and areas of risky agriculture.

Despite its high vitality, the variety's potential is maximized when seeding density is maintained and weed control is managed during the early stages of vegetation. «Assistent» is a reliable tool for agronomists working in regions with variable moisture, where traditional crops often yield inconsistent results.
