The Universal grain sorghum variety is a medium-maturity, high-yielding next-generation hybrid designed for cultivation for both grain and green mass. It is distinguished by phenomenal drought resistance and high yield, reaching up to 60 centners of grain and 300 centners of green mass per hectare. Universal is suitable for various purposes: silage production, hay, haylage, as well as grain, making it a universal solution for agricultural enterprises.
The variety is characterized by the absence of tannins, which improves grain quality and expands its application possibilities in the food industry, including the production of cereals, starch, and flour. In addition, grain and green mass serve as high-quality feed for livestock. Universal has high resistance to diseases, particularly grain smut, and is resistant to lodging, which ensures yield stability and facilitates harvesting.
The variety is adapted to various climatic conditions, including the Central Black Earth, Lower Volga, and North Caucasian regions, and is successfully grown in Ukraine. Average grain yield is about 29.2 centners per hectare, with maximum figures up to 82.3 centners, and the yield of dry matter of silage mass reaches 96.9 centners per hectare. Thanks to its characteristics, Universal is a reliable and efficient choice for farmers striving for high and stable sorghum yields.
