Sorghum Novooleksiivskyi

Working with silage sorghum

When it comes to feed security, "Novooleksiivskyi" from the Institute of Grain Crops remains one of the most predictable options. This variety is low-maintenance, consistently delivering the required volume of vegetative mass provided standard agronomic practices are followed.

Operational performance and growth

In the field, it performs reliably: uniform emergence and vigorous development. The operator’s primary goal is to hit the moisture windows. The variety demonstrates excellent resistance to lodging, which is critical for efficient mechanized harvesting. There are no issues with the combine harvester: the stem is supple, and chopping is uniform, resulting in the correct fraction for high-quality silage pits. Ultimately, this saves time on machinery calibration and reduces stress on the chopping drum.

Feed value and logistics

• High yield of green mass per hectare with moderate fertilizer input.
• High sugar content, which facilitates the ensiling process and improves livestock feed intake.
• Reliable performance: the variety tolerates short periods of drought well without critical yield losses.

If your strategy is to maximize feed production with minimal risk to quality, the choice of "Novooleksiivskyi" is backed by years of practice in domestic farms.
