Sorghum variety Mironovska 36 is an annual herbaceous plant with high productivity and diverse plant form. The plant forms 3 to 120 stems per plant, which have a cylindrical, smooth structure and height ranging from 0.5 to 3.5 meters. Leaves are lanceolate, light green, 45–60 cm long and 4–5 cm wide, drooping, with 7–8 leaves per plant. The root system is strong, consisting of numerous long fibrous roots over 2 meters in length, as well as adventitious or aerial roots branching off from lower stem nodes.
The inflorescence is a multi-flowered panicle 30–50 cm long, with single-flowered spikelets. Upon ripening, the panicle color changes from red to straw-yellow. The fruit is a seed enclosed in spikelet husks. This structure promotes good development and high yield of the plant.
Mironovska 36 is a warm-season variety, recommended for sowing when soil temperature at 10 cm depth is not less than 10–12 °C. Sowing rate varies depending on climate zone: 10–14 kg/ha in dry steppes, up to 20–25 kg/ha in forest-steppe zones. Under proper agronomic practices, hay yield reaches 6.8–9.7 tons per hectare. Due to its high protein content in stems, this variety is widely used as green feed, ranking only behind leguminous plants in this regard.
