SORDAN is a sorghum-sudangrass hybrid intended for feed use in animal husbandry. It belongs to grain-forage crops and is characterized by high productivity and nutritional value. The plant reaches a height of 170-180 cm and is ready for the first cut 60-70 days after emergence. Grain yield is 2.2-2.6 t/ha, green mass yield is 28.0-32.0 t/ha, and dry matter yield is 3.3-5.1 t/ha. Sowing is recommended using the standard row method with a plant density of 0.7-0.8 million/ha.
SORDAN should be harvested at the stage before heading, when plants accumulate the maximum amount of protein and carotene, which enhances feed value. Thanks to its powerful root system, the crop not only provides high-quality feed but also contributes to improving soil structure, increasing its aeration, water-holding capacity, and drainage properties. In mixed sowings with annual grain legumes, the sorghum-sudangrass hybrid can be used as green manure.
This crop contains a significant amount of macro- and microelements, making it particularly valuable for animal feeding. SORDAN is a first-generation hybrid recommended for growing in the North Caucasus and Lower Volga regions. Its use contributes to obtaining quality feed and improving soil agronomic indicators.
