Sorghum saccharatum JUBILEI® is a medium-maturity sorghum-sudangrass hybrid intended for sugar production and other products. This variety is developed for cultivation on irrigated lands and is distinguished by high yield and product quality. The vegetative period to full grain maturity is 105-110 days, which allows for effective planning of agrotechnical measures.
Plants reach a height of 238-250 cm, have an erect and compact bush with high bushiness – from 10 to 18 stems per plant. Stems are juicy, which contributes to obtaining a significant volume of green mass. Sorghum JUBILEI® is resistant to head smut, relatively resistant to powdery mildew and bacterial blight, drought-resistant, and not prone to lodging. These characteristics make the variety a reliable choice for cultivation in the Republic of Crimea and other regions with similar climatic conditions.
The variety is characterized by high productivity: green mass yield averages from 451.9 to 588.5 centners per hectare, and hay yield from 98.6 to 160.4 centners per hectare. Green mass contains 12.8-13.5% protein, making it a valuable feed. When grown on irrigation and harvested on time, up to four cuts per season can be obtained, which significantly increases the overall efficiency of using sown areas.
