Anniversary 50 is a medium-maturing sorghum-sudan hybrid intended for cultivation in the Republic of Crimea. It is characterized by high green mass yield, which on average over the years of testing reached 451.9 centners per hectare, while hay yield was 98.6 centners per hectare. The hybrid features a powerful bush with a semi-succulent stem height of 247 to 254 cm and a thickness of 8-9 mm, as well as high bushiness — up to 17-19 stems per plant.
A feature of the hybrid is its cyclicity of cuts: the first cut occurs 50-55 days after germination, the second — 35-40 days after the first, and the third — 40 days after the second. At the first cut, leafiness is 29-35%, at the second — 25-29%, which contributes to effective accumulation of green mass and hay. Such growth structure and cutting cycles ensure stable and high crop productivity.
Sorghum-sudan hybrids, to which Anniversary 50 belongs, are widely used in agriculture as a feed crop for livestock. They provide livestock with high-quality and nutritious feed, as well as are a source of energy. Thanks to adaptation to climatic conditions and disease resistance, this hybrid is suitable for cultivation in various agro-technical zones, making it a universal and profitable choice for farmers.
