The hard spring wheat variety Izolda is a high-yielding medium-maturing variety recommended for cultivation in the Forest-steppe and Polesie zones. The vegetative period ranges from 90 to 120 days, ensuring early heading and timely harvest. Plants reach a height of 95 to 115 cm, featuring a pyramidal spike head with white or straw-yellow color. The grain is hard, with high vitreousness up to 98%, 1000-grain mass of 45 to 50 grams, and bulk density of about 800 g/l.
Izolda is distinguished by high drought, lodging, and shattering resistance, confirmed by ratings on a 9-point scale. The variety also exhibits resistance to diseases such as brown rust and powdery mildew, contributing to crop stability. Protein content in the grain reaches 16.6%, and gluten ranges from 36 to 39%, making it attractive for producing high-quality flour and bakery products.
To achieve maximum yield, which can reach 6 tons per hectare, early sowing campaigns are recommended with a seeding rate of 180 to 220 kg per hectare or 6 million viable seeds per hectare. Base fertilization should include nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium in a dosage of N60P60K60. The variety is produced in Ukraine, ensuring adaptation to local climatic conditions and agronomic requirements.
