Sorghum Pronto

Working with Pronto sorghum

When planning the sowing season, yield stability is the top priority. This is a Hungarian-bred grain hybrid from the originator Alfaseed, which has proven to be a robust performer with an excellent immune system. A major headache for any grower is disease, and this is where "Pronto" really stands out. It is resistant to downy mildew (peronospora), and its field tolerance to phomopsis, phoma, and powdery mildew allows for significant savings on fungicide treatments.

Operational Performance

In the field, the hybrid behaves predictably. It is important to note that its intended use is exclusively for grain. During harvesting, there were no issues: the stalk is strong and does not lodge, which simplifies the combine operator's task and minimizes grain loss. Thanks to the Alfaseed genetics, you can count on uniform ripening, which is critical when you need to finish the harvest quickly before the rains begin.

• Crop Health: Minimal presence of fungal pathogens keeps your pesticide budget under control.
• Technological Ease: The uniform growth of the hybrid makes header adjustments and primary grain cleaning much easier.
• Performance: Consistently high grain filling even under moderately stressful seasonal conditions.

If you are looking for a crop that doesn't require constant "babysitting" every time there's a disease outbreak, "Pronto" by Woodstock is a well-balanced choice. It is forgiving of minor scheduling errors in field treatments and reliably delivers a harvest that is easy to sell on the grain market.
