Sorghum SATRAP

Securing silage production in drought-prone areas

For agricultural operations working in high-risk farming zones, finding a stable source of succulent forage often boils down to a lack of moisture. The «Satrap» sorghum hybrid from Agroplazma is a specialized solution for those prioritizing silage while facing severe climatic constraints.

Why choose this hybrid for your silage pipeline

The primary goal of "Satrap" in crop rotation is to produce maximum vegetative mass during periods when corn begins to struggle with heat stress. The practical value of this hybrid lies in its vigorous growth and its ability to efficiently utilize every millimeter of soil moisture available.

• Consistent Nutritional Value: Silage from the "Satrap" sorghum provides high energy. When harvested at the correct growth stage, it yields a balanced feed that rivals corn in fiber digestibility, while offering significantly higher reliability in challenging environments.
• Harvesting Efficiency: The hybrid is perfectly adapted for standard forage harvesters. The plant's architecture and height allow machinery to operate at optimal speeds, minimizing losses during the cutting process.
• Risk Mitigation: In livestock operations heavily dependent on silage, "Satrap" often acts as an insurance policy. In years with unfavorable summer weather, this hybrid ensures the farm is supplied with feed even in regions where other crops fail to establish a solid stand.

Choosing Agroplazma's "Satrap" is ideal for situations where predictable results are paramount. It is the choice of practical agronomists who aim to reduce dependency on weather fluctuations during critical developmental stages. The crop does not require specific changes to standard protection systems, allowing for seamless integration into existing sorghum management practices.
