Sorghum ELENUSHKA

Focusing on Grain Productivity

The «Elenushka» sorghum variety is a selection achievement focused on obtaining stable grain yields under temperate climatic conditions. Developed in collaboration with the Vavilov Institute (VIR) and the Samara Research Institute, this variety demonstrates resilience in regions prone to moisture deficits, making it a strategic asset for farms operating in high-risk agricultural zones.

Field Management and Operational Use

The primary specialization of «Elenushka» is its role as a forage crop. Producers select this variety to solve specific challenges regarding the storage of high-energy concentrated feed. Due to the well-balanced chemical composition of the grain, the crop effectively replaces traditional cereals in poultry, cattle, and swine diets, thereby lowering the overall cost of livestock production.

• Yield Stability: The variety shows predictable development patterns even during temperature fluctuations, which is critical for planning the feed supply chain.
• Efficiency: Uniform ripening of the panicles simplifies mechanical harvesting, reducing losses during direct combining.
• Agronomics: The crop is responsive to precise planting timelines and requires minimal plant protection measures, provided the soil is prepared correctly.

Integrating «Elenushka» into crop rotation allows for the optimization of fields unsuitable for more demanding cereals, while maintaining the overall profitability of the cropping sector.
