Sorghum EUFP 0005 A

French Genetics for Universal Applications

EUF 0005 A, developed by the French breeding company Eurosorgho, is a high-performance sorghum hybrid designed for efficiency and versatility. Its core value proposition lies in the combination of an ultrashort vegetation period (90–100 days) and multifunctional use, making it an ideal choice for growers facing limited moisture or short growing seasons.

Morphology and Agronomic Efficiency

The engineering focus of this hybrid is on its compact structure, with a plant height of 70–90 cm. This morphology is a strategic advantage: it significantly reduces lodging risks and improves mechanical harvesting efficiency. By avoiding excessive vegetative growth, the plant concentrates its energy on grain development, resulting in high-quality dark brown grain even under challenging environmental conditions.

Grain Quality and Forage Value

The EUF 0005 A hybrid is characterized by low tannin levels. From a nutritional perspective, this is a critical parameter. Tannins act as antinutritional factors that impair protein digestibility and palatability in livestock. By minimizing these compounds, the hybrid becomes an excellent base for high-quality silage and hay, ensuring better weight gain and feed efficiency in animal husbandry.

• Versatility: High performance across grain, silage, and hay production lines.
• Early Maturation: 90–100 days of growth, perfect for double-cropping or late-season planting.
• Stress Tolerance: Adapted to the typical climate constraints of European regions, ensuring reliable yields where other crops might struggle.
