Sorghum BIRUL

Grain Sorghum "Burul": Selection Excellence from SKFNAC

The breeding program of the North Caucasian Federal Agricultural Research Center (SKFNAC) focuses on developing crops capable of thriving in the demanding climates of southern regions. The grain sorghum variety "Burul" represents their effort to provide agricultural businesses with a reliable, drought-tolerant solution for intensive grain production.

Agronomic Profile

Designed for resilience, "Burul" is engineered to perform consistently in areas where water scarcity and heat stress limit the potential of other cereals. It offers farmers a robust alternative for crop rotation, specifically tailored for grain harvesting with a focus on yield stability and harvest efficiency.

• Primary Use: Grain production (feed and food processing applications).
• Origin: Developed by SKFNAC, leveraging deep expertise in adaptive breeding for steppe environments.
• Key Characteristic: High heat and drought tolerance during critical growth stages.

By integrating "Burul" into their production cycles, agricultural enterprises can significantly mitigate the risks associated with unpredictable weather patterns. The variety is recognized for its structural integrity, reducing losses during mechanical harvest. For operations looking to maximize productivity under challenging conditions, "Burul" serves as a proven genetic tool for sustainable farming in semi-arid zones.
